A MAZE. Indie Connect brings together international indie developers, creatives and enthusiast in Berlin, the city of creation, no borders, best clubs and an amazing games scene.
On April 26 and 27, you can expect two days of inspiration, skill, celebration and play. Talks and workshops give you insights and help your craft evolve, while exhibitions and game showcases give plenty of opportunity to play and enjoy your favorite art form.

The A MAZE. Indie Connect keynotes and lectures create a framework of game design, developer visions, indie philosophy, business and games culture relating to the issue of computer games. Taking computer games as a starting point, the lectures held by well-respected speakers offer insights into the entanglements and strategies of a highly complex media setting that alters existing contexts of production and reception, thereby provoking new perspectives. We love it!
International artists collaborate in workshops to share their work methods and their expertise with fellow players. The participants sign up to the event in advance and get the opportunity to prepare for the particularities that lie in the use of technologies, programming environments and game designs. The artists originate from very different contexts and are all experienced in the use of technology.

A MAZE. Jump‘n‘Run Bonus Cheat is a club night in which the relationship between art, music and video will be playfully explored and made tangible. Through the combination of band performances, live acts and DJ sets on the one hand, and interactive installations, playful visuals and computer-game-based objects of exposition on the other, the club becomes an all-embracing artistic experience.

Exhibitions are fun, inspiring and accessible to everybody. The A MAZE. Indie Connect exhibition is one important module of the event, featuring a range of game-oriented art, indie game productions and playful interfaces created by international artists and game designers. And is for the public and for free.

Organizers of the A MAZE. Indie Connect have officially opened submissions for the 2012 A MAZE. Indie Games Award being held in the framework of the Deutsche Gamestage 2012 in Berlin April 26-27. The A MAZE. Indie Connect is the first pure Indie Games Festival in Germany in Berlin, including a conference, workshops, showcase, party and award ceremony.
The winner of the A MAZE. Indie Games Award for "The Most Amazing Game" will be picked by a high profile international jury. The deadline for submissions is March 30, 2012 and the finalists will be announced in mid April 2012. All games selected as finalists will be available in playable form at the A MAZE. Indie Connect venues and will compete for a € 5000 prize and an amazing award trophy.
